Pamphlet and Collection Submission Guidelines

It is recommended that you read previous work published by Marble before you submit work

Please submit your work in the following way:

Title the email as follows: “Pamphlet – [title] [poetname]” or “Collection – [title] [poetname]”

Attached Word/PDF document containing your poems and a title for your collection, Pamphlet submissions will be considered between 12-24 poems. Collections should be 48 poems. Please state the number of poems which you are submitting in your cover letter.

Please consider the following when making a submission:

Literary CV/Biography. Your biography should include details of your creative experience to date,: competitions won, work published, etc. Your biography should be no more than a paragraph and focus on aspects relevant to your creative career.

Please also explain the main themes, focus or ideas of your work in approx. 50 words. Explain your collection as you would want it to be seen in the world. Avoid general descriptions, such as ‘loneliness’ or ‘relationships’ It is advised that you read some of the previously published pamphlets or issues of the magazine before submitting to understand what has been accepted. Pamphlet submissions should consider the following question: Why am I reading this work?

Marble is a small press, with limited marketing capacity. Please explain with your submission how you would contribute to the promotion of the book and what social media presence you have.

Marble currently aims to publish no more than 5 pamphlets and collections per year. Simultaneous submissions will be allowed for pamphlets (please read magazine submissions seperately. 

Submissions should be sent to pamphlets@marblepoetry.com. The editor will not engage in discussions about rejected work.

Once accepted, it will be required for the writer to withdraw the selected work from consideration by other publishers/competitions.
